Ten races, 88 teams from 4 nations competing and four stunning days of racing delivered an outstanding and memorable event for all competitors and host club, Cercle de Voile de Martigues, France.

Erica Dawson has become the first female in Starling Class history to make it into the top three, let alone win the Nationals in New Zealand. Erica Dawson of Murrays Bay Sailing Club sailed consistently throughout the 2012 Starling National Championship and domination of the last race set her a clear to win the title.

Day 2 of CIMA saw strong winds of around 20 knots, with gusts averaging 25 knots with a few recorded at 29 knots. The breeze really added to the race pressure and the outcome after a further three races was some significant shifts on the leaderboard. But not for the top pair, Yvann Thelier/Gauther Germain (FRA), who remain at the front with a 1,8,2 score.

ISAF has today announced the teams receiving funding from the Athlete Participation Programme (APP).

Thirteen 420 teams took part in the Singapore National Inter-School Sailing Championships 2012 from 17-20 April 2012 organized by the Singapore School Sports Council.

Day 1 of racing was completed on Monday 23 April at Coupe Internationale de L’Amitie (CIMA) 2012, which is taking place through until 27 April 2012 hosted by Cercle de Voile de Martigues, France.

Four intense days of racing at the ISA Mitsubishi Youth National Championships on Dublin Bay out of Dun Laoghaire, involving 26 teams from 6 nations in the 420 event, saw an international domination of the top seven places overall.

Racing on Dublin Bay out of Dun Laoghaire, the stakes are high for the competitors at the ISA Mitsubishi Youth Nationals as they are vying for not only the National Championship title, but also selection for Ireland spot in July’s Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships to be raced on the same race areas.

Twice2Much is a British financial organisation operating in Africa, who have decided to support South African youth through sport and have chosen two key sports, sailing and tennis. The programme is being implemented as part of their social responsibility program.
