Day two of the 2012 New Zealand National Championships saw racing get underway in a steady 10 knot north-easterly. The race area is well up the harbour, so there was quite a bit of chop, but with no swell, only passing cloud cover and about 15C. A fine day's racing was enjoyed by crews and supporters alike.

Day one of the 2012 New Zealand National Championships got underway on Thursday 8 March hosted by the Naval Point Club Lyttelton, New Zealand.

Ricardo Paranhos/Patrick Essle (BRA 52848) in the 420 boys and Viviam Alencastro/Marcela Moura (BRA 52200) in the 420 girls have been selected to represent Brazil at the Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship 2012.

An intense twelve-race battle in the 420 men and 420 women’s fleets eventually saw Singapore claim an overwhelming success, with gold and silver medals in both 420 fleets awarded to their sailors.

Slow and steady was the approach from Spain’s Santiago Mas Depares/Jaime Menescal who claimed victory on the final day of the 38th International Carnival Sailing Regatta with a 2,4 scoreline.

Two 420 teams are amongst the eleven youth sailors who have qualified for US Sailing's 2012 Youth World Team, and will receive invitations to represent the United States at the Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship in Dublin, Ireland, from July 12-21.

Enthusiasm dominated the first day of events of the 38th International Carnival Sailing Regatta held in Vilamoura until 20 February. Racing is spread over 4 courses, with 400 sailors competing is what is the greatest small boat sailing event that takes place in Portugal, with racing for 420, Optimist, Laser, Formula Windsurfing, Dart, F18 and Snipe.

Light winds, turquoise sea and clear blue sky dominated the final few days of the Semana Internacional de Yachting Mar del Plata.

Seventeen Brazilian teams put their boats in the water at São Paulo to compete at the 2012 420 National Championship. The weather was generally cool, with stronger winds in the opening races, and lighter winds for the last few days with 12 races completing the series.

Another three races completed at the Semana Internacional de Yachting Mar del Plata, but day 2 of racing did not go all the way of the series leaders Juan Garcia Rodriguez/Facundo Olezzam who posted at 5,3,1.
