420 Gold to Spain and Italy
WS Youth
Cool heads and steely nerves were among the vital attributes required to achieve ultimate success as the 2012 Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth World Sailing Championships finished on Dublin Bay in Ireland. Across the seven different classes the finale was marked by light, conflicting breezes with at least as many title upsets unfolding through the day as there were expected winning scenarios playing out on cue.
Advantage Italy at ISAF Youths
WS Youth
The 420 girl's class is tightly poised going into the final day of racing, after Haria Paternoster and Benedetta Disalle sailed to a cool, composed first and fourth to draw just one point ahead of the previously leading Australians Carrie Smith and Ella Cark, who finished fourth overall in Croatia last year. Britain's Annabel Vose and Kirstie Urwin hold steady in third overall with a ten points deficit to second.
Race day 4 in Ireland
WS Youth
As the 2012 Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship moved into its second phase on Dublin Bay in Ireland, after a well-earned layday, the mounting pressure clearly had an effect on Wednesday in several classes. With two races sailed in very different conditions, the possibility of a completely dry day was scuppered by a huge late afternoon cloudburst.
Australians swoop into 420 Girls pole position

Mother Nature was not content merely to throw more testing westerly offshore winds at the 343 future Olympians racing at the Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships. For day three’s two races, the under 19-year-old sailors from 61 nations faced additional challenges of torrential rain and reduced visibility.
Tricky breeze on day two
WS Youth
If conditions were challenging yesterday, they were even more so on day two of the Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship in Dun Laoghaire. A westerly to southwesterly breeze, blowing off the picturesque town on the outskirts of Dublin, was making the wind both shifty and gusty out on the water for the 343 future Olympic potentials, all under 19 years of age, who have congregated in the Emerald Isle from all four corners of the globe. At one point a squall passed over the fleet measuring 25 knots in the harbour.

WS Youth
Dublin Bay threw up a surprising mix of light to moderate winds, 4-15 knots, with shifts and gusts as clouds passed over, allowing the occasional glimpse of sunshine through.
