A bright and blustery start to the day, with two races held in Pwllheli, Wales. A stunning lead by Michael Wood/Hermione Stanley sees them discarding what to the other teams would be top results. A consistent scoreline includes four race wins and a 13 point margin over the chasing team of Craig Dibb/Charlie Cox.

Two more races on day 2 of the IBI British 420 Open and National Championships and it is the all female team of Jess Lavery/Georgie Mothersele who steam into the lead with a 3,4 posting, just 2 points ahead of the second placed boat.

61 teams were at the 2011 Italian National 420 Championships selection event raced over 21-22 August at the Marina di Ravenna, Italy.

One hundred and one teams are gathered in Nieuwpoort, Belgium for the 2011 420 Junior European Championship, with an impressive line up of 20 nations striving to deliver their best performances on the North Sea.

Two races were completed on day one of the 2011 420 Junior European Championships in fairly challenging sea conditions with waves up to 2 metres and wind of 20-22 knots, decreasing to around 15 knots for race 2.

Another day of tough conditions in Nieuwpoort, Belgium, with a very confused sea state and 18-22 knots on the 420 race course. The wind direction had changed 90 degrees compared to yesterday creating bigger waves.

Racing got underway in about 16 knots on the 420 course area for race 5, increasing for race 6 to around 25 knots. A wind shift just before the start of the last 420 start for race 6 meant a half hour delay to re-set the line, but for some that was opportune as the wind decreased to a more manageable 17-20 knots.

Of the 101 boat entry list from 21 nations at the 2011 420 Junior Europeans, thirty-four teams from 14 of those nations are competing in the gold fleet - a strong indicator of the depth of 420 talent.

A tense final day of racing at the 2011 420 Junior Europeans delivered another challenging track to navigate for the sailors, with light winds and strong current for the one race of the day.
