Congratulations to past 420 sailors, Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie (NZL) who have just won the 470 women's event at 2011 Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta. Aleh and Powrie took victory at the 2007 420 Ladies World Championships on their home turf in Auckland, New Zealand.
Technical course for coaches in Mozambique – Prepare for the 2011 All Africa Games

The IOC Olympic Solidarity department has confirmed that the Federacao Mocambicana de la Vela e Canoagem (Mozambique Sailing Federation) will host a Level 3 Technical Course for Coaches from 25 -31 July 2011. Timed to take place place ahead of the All African Games in Maputo this September, thanks to $12,000 USD in funding from their National Olympic Committee, the Course will be open to coaches from all over Africa.

After three days of racing and 9 races, the 2011 Portuguese 420 National Championship titles were awarded today in Tavira, Portugal. 32 teams contested the Championships which were sailed in a range of conditions from 2.5 knots through to over 15 knots, testing teams' skills.

The second day of the 2011 Portuguese 420 Championship, being held on the offshore island of Tavira, delivered three races in a south south-westerly breeze ranging from 2.5 - 12 knots. After a frustrating test of patience in today's opening race 4, races 5 and 6 tested the sailors in a different way as the wind increased.
