South Africa's sailing team wrapped up their All Africa Games campaign in style winning the penultimate race 10, to claim the gold medal in the 420 event in Maputo, Mozambique, on Sunday 11 September.

With three more days of racing left, 8 races completed and three to go, it is still South Africa’s Even and Johan Vivier who lead the 420 fleet at the 2011 All African Games.

South African brothers Eben and Johan Vivier continue to lead at the 2011 All African Games in the 420 fleet, notching up a second place and race win on day 2 to give themselves a 6 point margin ahead of the rest of the fleet with 4 races now completed.

25 teams contested the 2011 Irish 420 Nationals held over the weekend of 3-4 September 2011 in Spiddal, Galway, Ireland.

Perfect sailing conditions of between 10-15 knots greeted the teams competing in the sailing event at the 2011 All Africa Games on day 1 of racing yesterday in Maputo, Mozambique.

Teams from Angola, Mozambique and South Africa are set to contest the open two-person dinghy event in the 420 when racing gets underway at the All African Games today.

Mike Wood/Hermione Stanley won the IBI British 420 Open and National Championships at Pwllheli SC by 12 points.

From 25-29 July 2011, the Mozambique Sailing Federation hosted an ISAF Level 3 Technical Course for Coaches in Maputo, delivered by ISAF appointed Trainers Rob Holden from South Africa and All African Games technical delegate Pedro Rodriguez from Portugal.

A bright and blustery start to the day, with two races held in Pwllheli, Wales. A stunning lead by Michael Wood/Hermione Stanley sees them discarding what to the other teams would be top results. A consistent scoreline includes four race wins and a 13 point margin over the chasing team of Craig Dibb/Charlie Cox.

Two more races on day 2 of the IBI British 420 Open and National Championships and it is the all female team of Jess Lavery/Georgie Mothersele who steam into the lead with a 3,4 posting, just 2 points ahead of the second placed boat.
