Singapore’s girls and boys take the only 420 races on Friday

It seems that it was very light winds at Shanwei on Friday, with 3 – 7 knots being reported on SINsailing’s Games microsite. With one race 9 each, the Official Games Website records wins for both of Singapore’s 420 teams. Unfortunately, the cumulative results showing on the Sailing Asian website are only up to race 6, so the day before the lay day - does anyone know the standings?

We are still awaiting cumulative results, so it is hard to be sure what the line-up is into the last two days of the Asian Games. To be sure, it must be exciting, and it looks as though the competition in the men’s 420 may be going to the end!

Malaysia breaks Singapore’s run of bullets in the women’s

Khairunni Mohd Afendi & Nora Mohd Sayed (Malaysia) won race 7 to break the clean run of wins by Singapore’s women’s team of Qing Rachel Lee & Rui Qi Cecilia Low (had they just had tool much of Uncle Edwin’s pasta, we wonder).

Korean men win R3 & 4; SIN women now four up

Hoyeob Yang & Sangmin Lee of Korea won races 3 and 4, sailed on Monday in Shanwei, according to the Games Website. And Qing Rachel Lee & Rui Qi Cecilia Low again won both races for the women.

Two good races on first day....

Nino Shmueli writes from the waters of Shanwei: “First day with two good races, the first start with an East wind of about 10 kn., during the race the wind increased to 14 kn. "O" displayed at the top marks for both men and women, The second start was with "O" - no change of the wind direction but the wind increased to 17 kn. In the men’s fleet two boats were OSC. Tomorrow, we expect a cold front passing the area with 25 to 30 kn. of wind –let’s see what will happen?!”

Thais take first race, but SINers the rest

We await provisional (cumulative) Results, but the Official Asian Games site shows that the first race of the Games was won by the Thailand team, reigning Junior World Champions, Atiwat Chomtongdee & Navee Thamsoontorn, but the second race was taken by Xiaman Justin Liu & Feng Yaun Sherman Cheng of Singapore. The women of Singapore, Qing Rachel Lee & Rui Qi Cecilia Low were the leading women in both races.
