420 GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETINGS CONFIRMS VILAMOURA, PORTUGAL AS HOST OF 2019 42O WORLDS
Delegates representing 19 nations - AUS, BUL, CAN, CRO, CZE, FRA, GBR, GER, GRE, IND, INA, ISR, ITA, JPN, POR, SUI, TUR, URU, USA - attended the 2017 420 General Assembly Meeting on Sunday 23 July at the Nautical Club of Tzitzifies Kallithea, Athens, Greece, during the 420 Open European Championships.
Bids to host the 2019 420 World Championships were received from Sailing Club Pirat in Slovenia and Vilamoura, Portugal. On a majority vote, Vilamoura was selected.
The General Assembly delegates also approved a new 420 Class Constitution, which will establish the Class as a not for profit organisation registered in Switzerland. Within this new Constitution, changes to the articles were approved which re-elect the current Executive Committee members for a new 4-year term, being:
Nino Shmueli (ISR) – President
Jose Massapina (POR) – Vice-President
Fulvia Ercoli (ITA) – Secretary
Jackie Taylor (GBR) – Treasurer
Dimitris Dimou (GRE) - Technical Committee Chairman
