2019 420 Class Pre-Worlds Coaches and Sailor Clinic - Portugal
The International 420 Sailing Academy, Marina de Vilamoura, Vilamoura, Portugal will host the 420 Class Coaches and Sailors Pre-Worlds Clinic from 28 June-2 July 2019.
Head coach is Eyal Levin (ISR) an Olympian (2016) in the 470 Class, who will be supported by two-time Olympian in the 49er Class (2008 and 2012) Francisco Rebelo de Andrade (POR) and two-time Olympian in the 470 Class (1992 and 1996) Hugo Rocha (POR), who secured a bronze medal in the 470 Class at the 1996 Olympics. World Sailing International Judge Gordon Davies (IRL) will also be on-hand to offer his expertise on racing rules matters.
The Clinic is open to coaches and sailors. The maximum number of entries accepted will be 30 (coaches and sailors). If the clinic is over-subscribed, entries will be limited at the discretion of the organisers. NCAs and MNAs should indicate the order of priority of their coaches and sailors. All entries must be endorsed by their relevant NCA or MNA.
The aim of the Clinic is to share knowledge and coaching techniques, with sessions delivered by specialists in a mix of shore side theory and on-the-water practical sessions.
The essential costs of the Clinic are being met by the International 420 Class Association, with participating coaches and sailors required to cover their transport, accommodation and meals.
The first four days of the Clinic (28 June - 1 July) will be in collaboration with the pre-world’s regatta – the Vilamoura Open Regatta 2019 - that is taking place at the same venue and will be organized by Capable Planet Clube Náutico / Vilamoura Sailing. All sailors registering for the Clinic must also register to enter the Vilamoura Open Regatta 2019.
The Clinic will be a mix of on-water sessions, lectures, exercises and presentations. Please take a look at the Clinic Programme and General Conditions and submit your Entry Form by the deadline of 26 June 2019.
Each Coach and Sailor must cover his/her own travel, accommodation and meal costs. For assistance, please contact:
