Development Clinic Qingdao, China - Day 2
Today was the second day of the Chinese 420 Coaches and Sailor’s Clinic in Qingdao, China. This clinic is very important to the International 420 Class in this area of the world, with China being such a big country with a lot of potential in sailing. It was a great pleasure for Jose Massapina, President of the International 420 Class and Nikos Drougkas, Head Coach, to meet Mrs. Xiaodong Zhang, President of the Chinese MNA, Chinese Yachting Association, along with the Director (The Principal) and Vice Director (Vice Principal) of China Marine Sports School and we are grateful for their hospitality.
The morning session was dedicated to theoretical techniques of gybing the spinnaker and watching videos of the 420 online book of exercises and other examples.
In the afternoon, after one hour of practicing gybes in the boat park, we went afloat for the real exercises of gybing with the spinnaker. Tomorrow, the weather forecast is showing some rain, so we will probably have to adapt the programme accordingly!!
