OPTIMIST SAILORS GET UP CLOSE WITH THE 420
The International 420 Class Association was in the midst of over 1,000 Optimist sailors for two days, 14-15 April, of the Optimist Easter Regatta hosted at Fraglia Vela Riva, Lake Garda, Italy.
It's not often you get such a huge gathering of young sailors from around the world, and the 420 Class took the opportunity to introduce the 420 to sailors, parents and coaches, with a fully rigged 420 on display in the boat park.
Choosing the right boat for your future sailing career offers numerous choices, and just as the step from the Optimist Class to the next boat on the pathway is important, the onward choices are also key in the skills you will develop. The 420 Class has proven it delivers the skills whether your future will be in the dinghy, skiff or multihull route, so no surprise that the 420 attracted huge interest.
