The annual Open Orange Bowl Regatta at Coconut Grove Sailing Club attracted a diverse mix of 420 teams, keen to enjoy the warm weather in Miami, USA from 26-30 December.

26 teams from USA and Brazil compete

Twenty-six teams from USA and Brazil were in the starting line-up. Light winds meant no racing on day 1, putting pressure on the race management team to get the series completed in the remaining three racing days.

Day 2 saw two races completed for the 420 fleet and an early charge by Wiley Rogers/Jack Parkin (USA) gave them two race victories in a stylish display of teamwork and strategy around the track.

There was no let-up in their form as the as the pair racked up win after win, to make it 6 in a row. They took an OCS in the final race 7, which counted as their discard, giving the pair an overall win, carrying an 8 point advantage over William Logue/Bram Brakman (USA) in second. Josh Dochoda/Kyle Dochoda (USA) finished in third.

Top girls team were Christine Klingler/Victoria Thompson (USA) in 9th overall.
