The Campeonato Sudamericano 420 forms part of the multi-class Semana de Buenos Aires at YC Argentino over two weekends. Pablo Volker & Agustion Cunill Martinez (ARG) have taken an early lead with bullets in the first two races. Close behind on 5 points apiece are fellow-countrymen,
Juan Garcia Rodriguez & Tomas Ocampo and Mariana Lombardo & Joaquin Fehrmann.
Of the 28 entries, Chile has six boats entered, with teams from the new 420 Classes in Uruguay, Ecuador and Puerto Rico, as well as Brazil. Raul Rios (PUR), 2008 Optimist World Champion is leading the challenge from outside Argentina, but with Florencia Prego & Andrea Martinez, the leading women’s team, just one point behind.
