SOPHIE MOSEGAARD/FIONA SCHARER WITH OPENING SWISS POINT CHAMPIONSHIP OF SEASON
Held on Lake Uri, in the mountains of eastern Switzerland, the opening regatta of the Swiss Point Championship series took place from 27-28 April attracting a twenty-boat turn-out to the host club, DIRT Regatta Club Sisikon.
The course was set with novel GPS controlled marks, instead of traditional anchored marks, partly due to the 200m depth of Lake Uri.
No wind on Saturday piled the pressure on for Sunday, with three races completed in a cold northerly breeze. The wind oscillated around, picking up then disappearing, with all races finally held in a light breeze.
In challenging conditions Sophie Mosegaard/Fiona Scharer pulled of a 5,4,3 scoredcard to win by 4 points over Alexandre Grognuz/Simeo Vollmer on tiebreak with third placed Jasmine Scholer/Nicolle Scholer.
