Racing off India's eastern coastline, just south of Chennai, 159 sailors representing 16 clubs from across the country assembled to compete in 420, Laser 4.7 boys and girls, Laser Radial boys and girls, Optimist boys and girls, 29er and RS One.

The opening day featured extremely light breeze, with the challenged perfectly managed by the race committee as they completed three races in a very busy port environment. The breeze continued to fluctuate within the 6-12 knot range across the rest of the 11 race series.

Tamil Nadu sailors Navyn Prabhakar/Neelanand R and Chitresh Thatha/Aniketh Rajaram took the laurels in the 420 fleet, securing Gold and Silver respectively. Finishing 2 points behind to collect bronze were Binoob M/Pilli Akhil from Trishna Sailing Club.

Next up, India's 420 teams move straight into the India International Regatta, with racing from 2-6 January 2019.
