FREDERIKE WESTPGALEN/SOPHIE VON WALDOW WIN LOWER SAXONY STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Held over the weekend of 3-4 September 2016, the Lower Saxony State and Youth Championship was contested by 23 teams from the region for a 5-race series.
Earning themselves a dominant start were Victor Hellmann/Arne Gruschka who set the pace with back to back wins. The pair couldn’t maintain their form though, and were soon facing Frederike Westphalen/Sophie von Waldow who bounced back from their 3,21 scorecard, claiming results of 2,1,3 in the last two races.
Going into the final race there were just 6 points between the top three boats, with the 3rd place finish more than enough to give victory to Westphalen/von Waldow. Second to Hellmann/Gruschka and third to Arend Brugmans/Till Beilken.
In addition to the 420 Class, racing also took place for Optimist, OpenBic, Europe, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, Teeny and 29er.
