AUT, GBR and SWE boats have already been spotted on the water at Club de Vela Blanes, preparing for the annual International Grand Prix Vila de Blanes. 32 boats are pre-entered from Austria, France, Great Britain and Sweden, as well as Catalunya, Spain. This event is increasingly popular as the regatta to start the new year’s sailing, and several countries have been out training for the last couple of days in sunny conditions, 20c, F3 winds and waves! Rumours are that the French and Catalan boats will be there today. The event starts on Saturday, with a first warning signal at 15.30 and racing each day from 09.30 through to Tuesday, with the prize giving at 16.00.

We would welcome any informal news you may have, so Send Email. Meanwhile, the Brits have been reporting back on the GBR 420 website (more about their cooking than the sailing, one has to say!). There is a special Event Website, where the official news should first appear.

Meanwhile, all the very best wishes for a very happy (and windy) New Year to the International 420 Class - sailors, coaches and supporters - and to all the clubs and regatta organisers who have welcomed us in 2009 or are planning 420 regatta and championships. Good 420 sailing in 2010!
