The fleet includes a large number of sailors who have transitioned into the 420 from junior classes and who are keen to learn new 420 skills in a supportive coached environment. To help all 420 sailors to improve their knowledge and skills and to also facilitate them to meet new friends in the Vic 420 fleet, the 2015 Victorian International 420 Festival has been arranged by the Victorian International 420 Class Association.

The 2015 Victorian International 420 Festival has been organised across the following two events on back-to-back weekends to celebrate the enormous growth in the 420 Class over the past two years and to help new 420 sailors to learn as much as possible about sailing an International 420.

Part 1: “Come and Learn a Lot”:
Schnapper Point Regatta at Mornington YC, coached racing over two days (Sat 28 Feb & Sun 1 March) and a series of interesting and relaxed on-land information sessions relating to the interesting areas of 420 knowledge/information/equipment; and

Part 2: “Come and Put it All into Practise”:
Victorian State 420 Championships at Sandringham YC, to put it all into practise the following weekend Sat 7 March to Monday 9 March. Lets see if we can “Target 35” boats!

Participants can of course choose to attend either or both events, and interstate sailors are encouraged to participate.

Part 1 is a great opportunity to learn heaps, both on and off the water and for the new sailors in particular to up-skill, as a great stepping stone to Part 2.

Part 2 is where the sailors can put it all together, with the benefit of what they have learnt at Mornington.
