SWISS 420 SAILOR PICKS UP JUNIOR SAILOR AWARD
An evening of celebrations for Swiss Sailors unfolded in Lucerne at a gala evening in the Transports Museum. Tributes were paid to sailors across the spectrum, Olympic stars to junior teams, lifetime achievement awards to sailing projects.
The young sailors Nicolas Rolaz and Max Wallenberg have both delivered strong results and gains in performance, over the 2015/2016 period of the award. Two years ago Rolaz won the Optimist World Championships, and this year Wallenberg did the same, securing victory at the Championship held in Vilamoura, Portugal.
Since his win in the Optimist, Rolaz stepped across to the 420 Class, counting appearances at 420 Worlds, Junior Europeans and the World Sailing (ISAF) Youth Worlds.
