Sunday started with the video debrief, reviewing the previous day’s on water exercises to identify where improvements were required as well as the good points.

Head Coach, Nikos Drougkas (GRE) then introduced the 420 Exercise e-Book and how it can be best used by coaches and sailors. This online training resource is targeted at providing world class training techniques and strategies on Performance Improvement for Coaches and Sailors. The International 420 Class Association Exercise e-Book provides a selection of carefully chosen performance training exercises, with accompanying video and commentary to provide sailors and coaches with a step by step path to improving their skills. From covering boat set-up to techniques at mark roundings, strategies and tactics on the startline to gybing in strong winds, the e-Book covers a diverse range of training exercises

The following session focused on setting the 420 up for racing, looking at the mast rake, spreader setting marks and all basic set-up requirements. Take a look at some online 420 Tuning Guides and Beginners' Guides.

Before heading out on the water for the afternoon session, coaches and sailors were briefed on the planned exercises and goals were set. An intense afternoon session kept teams on the water until 1700 hours. Back ashore there was time for a debrief, sharing of some final top tips, before farewells.

The International 420 Class Association thanks the Myamar Yachting Federation, Yangon Yacht Club and all coaches and sailors for their commitment to this first Coaches and Sailors Clinic. We look forward to continuing to work with you.

Hosted at Yangon Sailing Club over five days, 7-11 September 2016, and organized with the support of the Myanmar Yachting Federation, the Clinic helped to improve the skill level of both coaches and sailors in the region. The Clinic in Myanmar is the first in a series of Clinics which are being held in South America, Asia and Europe, including a High Level Coaches Clinic in Italy from 1-5 October, for which registration is still open.
