Two 420s battled for honours at the RYA Northern Ireland Youth Championships over the weekend of 29-30 September 2012, hosted by Ballyholme Yacht Club.
Small 420 Fleet but Close Battle
Teams were competing across eight different divisions, and as well as the class titles were also representing schools and hoping their combined results would secure the Schools Cup.
Breezy conditions on both days of racing, put the two teams of Laura Gilmore/Fraser Wright and Lucy Burrows/Sara Parkinson through their paces.
Two points was the final difference, with Gilmore/Wright sealing victory after claiming three race wins, compared to the two bullets taken by Burrows/Parkinson.
