The National Championship kicked off well on the opening day, with a breeze of around 10 knots, decreasing to 7-8 as the day unfolded. Two races completed, albeit with a shortened course in race 2, and Hanna Soltesz/Balazs Marton scored 2,1 to take the opening day lead.

No racing on days 2 and 3 as the wind failed to show, returning on Saturday’s day 4. An easterly 10 knot breeze filled for the penultimate day, but it spun around with varying pressure and direction, so a tricky race track for the teams to master.

The final day again saw a no-show from the wind, so the overnight leaderboard remained, with the 2018 420 National Championship title going to Hanna Soltesz/Balazs Marton from their scorecard of 2,1,5,2, second to Peter Vida/Laszlo Fehervari and third to Marcell Mohacsi/Erik Juhasz.

Peter Vida/Laszlo Fehervari also won the U19 420 National Championship title.
