The Irish 2010 National Championships were held at the Royal Cork YC, jointly with the first 470 Nationals (won by a Frenchman!). Many of the Fleet were recently home from the Junior Euros, so the attached Report is extra well-illustrated!

The eventual Champions were Cian O’Regan & Scott Flanigan and Emma Geary and Niamh Connolly. Rob Lehane, taking time off from his 470 to defend his 2009 title, sailing with Andrew O'Donoghue, had to make do with 2nd (rumour is he is taking up boxing at uni, so the 470s will have to mind out for his return!). Meanwhile, although some familiar faces may be lost from 420s to their studies for 2010/11, we can see new Irish 420 blood coming through, with fleets in competing in Galway and Donegal, as well as those from Dublin and West Cork – hope all represented at Tavira and Nieuwpoort in 2011!
