GIRLS TEAMS TOP THE PODIUM AT US YOUTH SAILING CHAMPIONSHIP

Nineteen 420 Class teams took to the race track off Carolina Yacht Club, Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina to battle it out for the 2018 US Youth Sailing Championship crown and claim valuable points towards national selection for the upcoming Youth Sailing World Championships.

Held from 23-27 June, the Championship attracts many of the USA's most talented partnerships, with racing in the 420 Class held alongside the 2934, Laser, Laser Radial, Nacra 15 and Techno 293.

The New York based team of Michelle Lahrkamp (Rye, N.Y.) and Gabriella DelBello (Bedford, N.Y.) closed out a successful regatta to win the Championship by 14 points. They consistently scored inside the top three, including two race wins. Sarah Burn and Patricia Gerli moved up from third to second on the final day and Lachlain McGranahan (Sewickley, Pa.) and Declan McGranahan (Sewickley, Pa.) moved to third place overall.
