Lumpy seas and a moderate Pacific Ocean swell over the weekend didn’t dampen the spirit of the sailors from two days of intense sailing, hardy competition and for some, significant improvement. The inaugural San Diego Olympic Classes Regatta (SDOCR) was nothing short of a successful weekend, with over 80 boats in six fleets already anticipating their return next year.

A consistent show of form from Justin Lim/Patrick Mulcahy gave them the upperhand from the outset, claiming back to back wins in the opening two races. The pair dipped to scores of 3,2,2 before packing in a win in the final race 6 to wrap- up victory. Second to Chloe Holder/Kristen Zarembinski, 1 point behind the leaders, with Masonn Stang/Timmy Gee in third.

Next up for US 420 sailors is the 2018 420 Atlantic Coast Championship on 27-28 October.
