DAY 1 AT 420 CLASS COACHES AND SAILORS CLINIC IN AUSTRALIA
420 Class head coach Michalis Mileos (GRE) and 420 Class Vice-President responsible for development José Massapina (POR) headed to Australia from South Africa as the pair led back to back 420 Class Coaches and Sailors clinics across the two continents.
Taking place from 29 September to 3 October at the Brighton & Seacliff Yacht Club in Adelaide, the 420 Class Coaches and Sailors Clinic in Australia is targeting a high performance level, gathering experienced coaches and sailors and accelarating their skill sets to the next level.
After the formal welcome and opening of the clinic and an institutional presentation by José Massapina (POR), the head coach Michalis Mileos (GRE) highighted the importance of 'Coaches' Qualities' and the 'Organization and Planning of a Training Programme'. Moving to the boat park and shore side exercises, coaches and sailors then practised some manoeuvres ashore, including taking, before heading out for an on-water session.
The Clinic is a mix of on-water sessions, lectures, exercises and presentations as detailed in the Clinic Programme and General Conditions for full information. As with all the 420 Class development initiatives, registration to the Coaches and Sailors Clinic in Australia is free of charge, with participants just needing to cover costs for their travel, accommodation and daily meals.
Thanks to Allen Brothers, who sponsor the 420 Class Development Programme, and provide a full set of boat fittings for every one of our 420 Class Coaches and Sailors Clinics.
