CLEAR CUT WIN TO MORITZ HEIDENREICH/DAVID FROST AT SAIL CANADA YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP

Canada's CORK Regatta celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2019, with the Sail Canada Youth Championships,12-16 August, part of a packed programme of events taking place in the anniversary year.

Five 420 Class teams contested the 12 race series over four days of racing on the same waters that hosted the 1976 Olympic Sailing Competition. Tricky light breeze dominated on each day, as over 400 sailors from 13 countries competed in the various championships taking place.

The partnership of Moritz Heidenreich/David Frost dominated the race track, scoring an all top-3 scorecard, including 7 race wins to convincingly win the Sail Canada Youth Championship.

Finishing 15 points behind were Maya Heidenreich/Cesar Vega Molero who also raced a super consistent series, wrapping up with two races wins on the final day to secure second placed. Third to Jackson Macaulay/Airde Nesbitt.
