An impressive turnout of ninety-two 420 teams competed at the Grand Prix de L'Armistice, which takes place on the largest fresh water lake in Europe, Lake Carcans.

92 Teams Compete in 420 Fleet

Joining the French dominated line-up, were teams from Great Britain, Ireland and Switzerland. Great racing conditions with the wind from the south-west and ranging from 5-20 knots over the three days of racing.

The teams raced in an open fleet, with podium finishes awarded to the open and girls top finishers.

The overall win went to Hypolitte Machetti/Sidoine Dantes, with a 10 point margin over Swann Hayewski/Alexis Thomas who took second on a tiebreak over Arnaud Herail/ Paco Lepoutre in third. Earlier this year, Machetti/Dantes won the EUROSAF Youth Sailing European Championships.

The top placed girls team was Marina Lefort/Lara Granier, who were 12th in the Open fleet, with Charlotte Yven/Marine Riou second placed girls and 14th overall, and Paola Amar/Carly Pedron third girls and 18th overall.
