The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) has announced the 27 athletes from 13 nations who will be benefiting from the Athlete Participation Programme (APP) funding at this year's ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships.

Since 2002 APP funding has given over 150 sailors the opportunity to compete at the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships.

From the 27 sailors chosen to benefit from APP funding in Zadar there will be nine sailors in the Laser Radial Boys, five in the Laser Radial Girls, six in the 420 Girls, two in the 420 Boys, three RS:X Boys and two sailors from Hong Kong in the SL16.

Sailing Club Uskok will host the 41st edition of the ISAF Youth Worlds and the sailors on APP will be able to compete in Zadar with subsidised travel and entry.

The 420 athletes receiving APP support are:

420 Boys
1. Paul A Rios (PUR)
2. Fernando Monllor (PUR)

This Puerto Rican team will be making a second time appearance at the ISAF Youth Worlds – they finished at #18 out of a 36 boat fleet in 2010 and are keen to improve.

420 Girls
1. Maria Sofia Middelthon Zanartu (CHI)
2. Horwitz Von Appen Nadja (CHI)
3. Maria Jose Cucalon Ramirez (ECU)
4. Andrea Susana Collin Pinto (ECU)
5. Agustina Barbuto (ISV)
6. Nikole Barnes (ISV)

Of the three 420 girls crew on the APP, only the US Virgin Islands' Agustina Barbuto and Nikole Barnes are what could be considered old hands at the ISAF Youth Worlds, having competed in 2010
