420 Class Coach Supporting 420 Teams at Youth Worlds
The International 420 Class Association has partnered with World Sailing to support the 420 youth sailors of the world competing at the Youth Worlds in Langkawi, Malaysia from 27 December-3 January.
Renowned 420 Coach Nikos Drougkas is being funded by the International 420 Class Association to support the 420 teams competing at the Youth Worlds. With a combined fleet of 57 teams representing 34 nations, Drougkas' role is full on. All teams are invited to join the morning briefing, which looks at the weather forecast and specific weather considerations teams should factor into their race strategy, as well as an overview of the racing programme and top tips for the day ahead.
During racing, Drougkas is on the water offering support to teams and acting as rescue cover.
After racing, Drougkas runs through a debrief of the day with a specific focus on the 420 teams, but is also joined by many teams and coaches from the other participating classes.
Drougkas is also giving specific support to the 420 teams representing Macau, Chinese Tapei and Cyprus.
The International 420 Class Association has worked with Drougkas on several projects providing development and training expertise online through the 420 to the Max training videos and 420 e-Book of performance exercises. Go take a look ...
