Yvann Thelier/Gauther Germain (FRA) Stay at Top
Day 2 of CIMA saw strong winds of around 20 knots, with gusts averaging 25 knots with a few recorded at 29 knots. The breeze really added to the race pressure and the outcome after a further three races was some significant shifts on the leaderboard. But not for the top pair, Yvann Thelier/Gauther Germain (FRA), who remain at the front with a 1,8,2 score.
Moving on up are Guillaume Pirouelle/Valentin Sipan (FRA) who were in fifth after day 1, and now shift up to second overall, just 1 point behind the leaders, after two race wins from day 2.
Massive shock for Robin Follin/Tao Manni (FRA) who went into day 2 sitting in second overall, but ended the day in 27thafter an OCS and DSQ shattered their scoreline. We will see how far back up the leaderboard they can climb by the end of the event.
Sitting steady in third overall are Nicolas Ferrellec/Baptiste Szekely (FRA) on 15 points .
Top women’s team continues to be Nora Trueb/Julia Corbelli (FRA) who are in fifth overall.
The fleets have now been split into gold and silver fleets for the final series of the event, with racing getting underway at 1100 hours.
